Pablo Berger Begins his career as a filmmaker with the cult short Mama. Thanks to the many awards that he receives, including Best Film at the Alcalá de Henares Festival, gets a scholarship from the Provincial Administration of Biscay to study a Master’s Degree in Filmmaking at the New York University. At this prestigious school he directs Truth and Beauty, nominated for an Emmy Award. His first work, Torremolinos 73, was the Spanish revelation film of 2003. Apart from its box office success in Spain, with more than 500 000 viewers, it was nominated for four Goya Awards (Best Original Screenplay, Best New Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor) and it premiered in countries such as the United States, Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, England, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Greece, Turkey, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Israel, Mexico, Brazil, Australia and Taiwan, and they even did a remake of the film in China in 2008. Torremolinos 73 has won many national and inernational awards, including Best Director at the Málaga Film Festival and Palm Springs, Best Screenplay at Toulouse and Palm Springs and a Sant Jordi Award for Best First Work.

Leire Berrocal Studied Journalism at the University of Leioa and Drama at the Official Theater School of Getxo, as well as several modern dance and acting courses, begins her career with the ETB TV series Las memorias de Karbo Vantas by Javier Ibarretxe. Makes her film debut with Talk of angels together with actors such as Vincent Perez, Frances McDormand, Polly Walker or Franco Nero. In 1995 shined in Juan Vicente Córdoba’s short film Entre vías and Mariano Barroso’s film Éxtasis. Won the Best Actress Award at the V Edition of the El Mundo Awards to Basque Films for her fresh performance in Javier Rebollo’s comedy Calor y… Celos. Became very successful when she got a leading role in Más que amigos, with which she made history playing a gay character in a TV series. Other important titles in her career are Cuestión de suerte, the short film Cien maneras de hacer el pollo al chilindrón, Sex and Agua con sal. In theater, she stands out in Salomé and Hoy no puedo ir a trabajar porque estoy enamorado, directed by Natalia Menéndez. |
Haritz Zubillaga For as long as he can remember he wanted to be a filmmaker. Since then, he has developed a prolific career directing a large number of short films. Las horas muertas, his last work, has won around thirty awards at national and international festivals and has been nominated for a Golden Meliès for Best European Fantastic Short Film of the year. He is currently preparing his first feature film with which he promises to prove his complete devotion for fantasy films and make a vibrant movie from the first still until the last one.
