Film Director

Christmas 1985. A group of kids finds a lady dressed up as Santa Claus in a hole in the woods. What they don't know is that is a robber in the run after having committed a robbery. One of the most original films of our Fantrrobia 2009 award: a cruel tale with multiple tributes to the eighties' pop culture. Funny and unexpected cameos, black humour and a perfect staging by the director of El segundo nombre. The revelation of Ivana Baquero who would later get the leading role of Pan's labyrinth, who has recently been directed by the scriptwriter of Cuento de Navidad, Luis Berdejo, in the American The new daughter.

His first feature film, El segundo nombre, introduced at FANT 2003 by his co-writer from Bilbao Fernando Marías, wins the Silver Meliés for Best European Fantasy Film. In 2004, he directs Romasanta, starred by Julian Sands and Elsa Pataky, which opened FANT that year.
